I'm traveling this early morning to Austin Texas from my home in Sarasota, FL. This is probably the fourth road trip I've had in the last month in which I have left my 7.5 pound Mac laptop at home and opted only to bring my iPad. You can read the rest of this Post if you'd like, but let sum it all up by saying that I do not miss having to lug my laptop around at all with only a couple of exceptions.

The iPad is terrific for just about everything I need to do while traveling. Its form factor and light weight are amazing for airports and running between meetings. It boot immediately. It's a pleasure to work with. It is THE future laptop. It will be YOUR laptop in the next couple of years.

The only current restraints on full use of the iPad today (and these can be corrected by Apple via a software upgrade) is he lack of file system and lack of printing (File->Print command).

There are a couple of work arounds for this which I will explain to you if you want to get in touch with me.

One really good iPad compatible solution is DropBox (www.dropbox.com). With DropBox, I can post any file I want/need from my laptop to the Cloud and then open it on my iPad through a very elegantly designed application.

The iPad is amazing for both web browsing and also for email. Believe me, you won't be disappointed.
