Clif Carothers
Since 1999, Clif has focused on growing Intensive Air, Inc. from a small air ambulance brokerage firm into a successful international patient transport business. His company offers multiple medical transport options to retail customers, natural disaster evacuation services to institutional customers, and repatriation services to the Federal government. He is positioning his company to participate in the coming industry consolidation through private equity funded acquisitions. He has successfully grown revenues by 400 percent to become a top twenty company in a fragmented industry of over three hundred companies.
Prior to Intensive Air, Clif was a vice president of strategy and marketing for an international pipeline company, Iroquois Gas, and was the Director of the Gas Division and Retail Electric Marketing for an Ohio utility, Dayton Power and Light. In these companies, Clif leveraged their existing assets to provide retail sales to third party entrepreneurial energy firms and participated in the deregulation of markets for gas and electricity to create additional profits.
Before Dayton Power and Light, Clif progressed through multiple positions to Vice President of Development for AES Corp., a multinational, multibillion dollar independent energy company that grew during this time from 200 employees to over 70,000 employees. At AES, Clif championed an empowered organizational culture while leading development, construction and start-up teams of multiple electric power facilities.
Clif started his professional career with Babcock and Wilcox, a power plant manufacturer, as a mechanical engineer managing test teams that determined power plant deficiencies through the use of diagnostic equipment and computers.
Clif earned a BSME at the University of Akron and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Sarasota with his wife and four children where he enjoys his community’s artists, Florida’s coastline, and Orlando’s play parks.
